Presiding as President over The Rotary Club of Boca Raton, we were extremely fortunate to have been selected for affiliation by Bernardo Wolfson. He joined our club and without hesitation became involved with Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self. Bernardo was requested because of his notable leadership abilities to join our Board of Directors. He was also invited to Chair our Foundation which normally takes years to comprehend its complexity. Bernardo has taken our international Foundation to another level.

I am Chair of the Board of Directors of Prevent Child Abuse America and am thrilled to have Bernardo as a fellow board member. He is a critical player on our Board who has actively supported all of our activities and specifically our Operations and Programs and Research Committee. He brings his unique business experience and acumen to everything we do. I particularly want to highlight his work leading our LEAP data systems initiative, which will help the organization collect, organize and analyze/interpret critical data relating to our Healthy Families America (HFA) program, validating this critical home visitation model. Bernardo has also assisted the organization in its development of an enterprise resource management (ERM) program, relying on his extensive corporate background involving such issues. As a manager, I have to deal with different situations that need immediate attention on a daily basis. Such situations normally involve individuals from various cultures, education levels and personality traits. 

Over the course of my sessions with Bernardo, we explored different techniques with the objective of accomplishing a specific goal set out by our company, in order to make these techniques a daily practice. 

Personally, I was very impressed with the "Role-play" technique, which I believe is based on a common tool often ignored due to day to day activities at work: empathy.  

Empathy gives us a perspective on how a task or assignment that might seem negative at first may positively influence team members. In fact, we applied this technique to my specific goals and the results have turned into management strategies when on-boarding people to a new process or corporate requirement.

Bernardo was a wonderful coach for me at a time when I was deeply confused about the direction of my life and needed help to reevaluate my alternatives.  He was excellent at nudging me to peel back the layers of my thinking, including my fears and hopes. Between 2017 and 2018, SMP TOUR contracted REALIZE LLC regarding a coaching project. This experience was extremely enriching, guiding the path for our company and staff to implement effective and more expedient strategies.
